DAVIE, Fla. -- Some South Florida families in southwest Davie are cleaning up after severe weather rolled through Thursday evening.
"There was hail and it started pounding the windows," resident Brett Baggett said. "Everything was swirling around the back porch."

"My husband is yelling, 'Get in the bathroom. There is a tornado,'" Margie Baggett said. "I grabbed my dog and went to the bathroom and open the the shower door and jumped into the tub," she said.The Baggetts survived the storm but their 24-year-old oak tree did not. It was uprooted and landed on part of their house, but didn't appear to cause any major damage.The storm, declared a small tornado by the National Weather Service Friday, sent residents scurrying away from branches and debris. Downed power lines also hit a nudist camp in the area."The huge tree was sucked up and laying across the house," Margie Baggett said. "It was just a horrible storm. It was swirling and swirling.""It was the scariest thing," Brett Baggett said. "I didn't know what was going on. It was crazy."No injuries were reported during the storm.
