A passenger on a Carnival cruise ship, Fascination, is suspected to have fallen overboard about 14 miles southeast of Key Biscayne and has not yet been found.

The man was last seen around 3:30 a.m. Friday. He was reported missing shortly after 7 a.m. when his traveling companion told crewmembers that she could not locate him.

Crewmembers said they tried paging the guest and searched the ship several times.

The ship docked at the Port of Miami and officials required all disembarking passengers to swipe their electronic identification cards as they exited the ship to make sure the missing man did not exit.

Fascination officials said the man was not located and was presumed to have gone overboard. The U.S. Coast Guard continued to search the area where the ship was when the man was last seen on board.

The Fascination was returning from a four-day cruise to Cozumel, Mexico.

The ship was scheduled to leave Friday afternoon on a three-day Bahamas cruise.
