Jim Furyk Calls Incident An 'Embarrassing Situation'
U.S. Open champion Jim Furyk, who celebrated his victory at Olympia Fields Country Club on Sunday, had a bizarre experience on the 11th hole. A half-naked woman, exposing her upper torso, walked onto the course and approached him with a flower.

"I honestly didn't see her. My back was turned," Furyk recalled afterwards. "I hit a pretty good putt, and my back was turned. And I heard a fan yell out, 'You've got to be kidding me,'" Furyk recalled. "And the reaction struck me as funny."
Furyk said he turned to look at the crowd, trying to see what the fan's remark meant, and also looked at his playing partner, who looked as befuddled as he was.
When he finally turned back toward the course, he saw the woman.
"She was right there -- 4 feet away, with a flower of some sort," Furyk said. "It was a total shock. I turned around and just went, 'Whoa!' You don't know how to react."
Furyk said it was an "embarassing situation on national television."
And he made sure to let the world know that the woman did not not impress him.
"I love my wife, and I didn't want the flower," Furyk said. He and his wife have one baby and another one on the way.
