Two people were arrested Wednesday after police discovered a warehouse full of fake name-brand clothes in Hialeah.

Police said they received a tip from New York that fake designer clothes were being sold out of a warehouse at the corner of 71st Street and Northwest 37th Avenue.

"We wind up having someone that can go undercover and make some purchases from this business. From that, we found out that they had a lot of different name brands that were counterfeit," said Sgt. Richard Davis of the Miami-Dade County Police Department.

Police arrested Dale Rege, who police said was arrested before on a similar accusation, and Isabel Fernandez, of Hialeah.

"(Rege) was served with what we call a cease and desist order to never sell anything. He also had fines to pay the manufacturers that he had been selling their counterfeit items. But here, we see he is back in business all over again," Davis said.

Inside the warehouse, investigators said they found fake Abercrombie and Lacoste clothes and other counterfeits shipped from all over the world. Police said the 65,000-square-foot warehouse was full from top to bottom with the counterfeit merchandise.

"We were shocked. We had no idea it was going to be that much counterfeit material that they had, this merchandise. We were very much shocked," Davis said.

Officers also raided another warehouse off 96th Street and Northwest 79th Avenue. Investigators said this is one of the biggest busts they have ever seen.

"Right now, we're trying to figure out where we're going to keep all this stuff until that time because our property could fit in this building," Davis said.

Rege and Fernandez are being charged with trademark infringement and organized fraud. If convicted, they could face up to 30 years in prison.
