DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. -- Fumes in a home overcame four adults and seven children when a cleaning job got out of hand.Residents of a Deerfield Beach home were mixing chemicals to clean away mold left from Hurricane Wilma when the fumes became toxic. One woman was hospitalized."She passed out in my yard, and I asked what was happening," neighbor Willie Mann said. "They took me in to see the mold and I told them to call paramedics, because I didn't know what was happening."
Deerfield Beach fire rescuer officials said the family apparently mixed bleach in a container that had once contained ammonia and the combination formed chlorine gas.The children have since recovered. The woman remained in a hospital.
