Police are asking for the public's help identifying a woman wanted in a "blessed money" scam.

Police said a woman who wanted to be identified only as Ana Maria lost $95,000, her job and her boyfriend in the scam.

Ana Maria said the culprit, a woman named Ms. Daniella, who claims to be a fortuneteller and psychic reader, found her alleged victim through business cards distributed around the Miami area.

Ana Maria said the situation began with $10 sessions for answers to a simple problem.

"I had some problems with my significant other," Ana Maria said.

But Ms. Daniella started to convince Ana Maria that she was surrounded by bad spirits.

"She said it was my money that was cursed," Ana Maria said.

So, after cashing in her stock options, Ana Maria turned up with the $95,000 in cash to a hotel to have it cleansed. She was told to shower in order to cleanse herself of bad spirits as well.

Ms. Daniella then put the money in a bag and "cleaned" it. She returned the bag to the victim and told her not to open it for two weeks.

"A switch was done. All she had was like a bunch of bundles of paper-cut money with $1 bills attached to the top," said Detective Antonio Mesa, of the Surfside police.

Mesa said he hopes to get some leads in the case, because he said it could happen to anyone.

Ms. Daniella may be with a man who identifies himself as Hugo Flores.

Ana Maria is dealing with the loss of her life savings, her boyfriend and her job, but said she will get her money back.

"I'm going to find her. I'm going to make a film about this. This is a wakeup call, so I'm going to do something about it," Ana Maria said.

Anyone with information should call Surfside police at (305) 861-4862.
