PLANTATION, Fla. -- Thanks to surveillance video, a 9-week-old miniature Chihuahua puppy that was stolen from Precious Puppies pet store in Plantation has been found.NEW Images: Stolen Puppy Found |
Surveillance VideoOn Tuesday, the store released a surveillance video hoping it would help to catch the alleged thieves and return the puppy they reportedly stole. Thanks to a tip that came in from that video both the stolen puppy and the girl police believe is responsible for taking it have been located.
"Police officers called me to say they had received a tip and they came to the store and reviewed the videos. Then they went to the location where they were told the puppy might be and confirmed that this was in fact our puppy and that one of the young ladies who stole it was in possession of the dog," said store owner Cindy Darrell.Early Wednesday morning, Darrell told NBC 6's Tina Conti that she is very glad she recovered the stolen dog and when you hear the price tag, you won't be surprised to realize why she is so grateful. The puppy weighs only one pound and four ounces but costs $1400.Darrell credits the number of surveillance cameras she has in the store for helping to catch the alleged thieves and bringing the puppy back to her.Click here to enter your pal in a nationwide virtual dog show.
