Dog Suffered Spinal Injury

A little dog is overcoming his disability and becoming an inspiration to adults.

Hans, a 9-year-old Dachshund, suffered a spinal injury that crippled both of his hind legs.

But his owner, nurse Anne Huber, wouldn't let him down.

"He has too much spunk, too much life in him just to let him go like that," Huber said.

Huber found a company online that made dog wheelchairs, and Hans hasn't stopped since.

In his own recovery, Hans has become an inspiration to humans facing new challenges.

"Look at that adorable dog," said stroke patient Mimi Wildridge. "Look (at) what he's able to do with his disability."

At a rehabilitation center in Ormond Beach, Fla., where Huber is a case manager, Hans goes to work with her several times a week.

Stroke patients use Hans in therapy, especially for their hands.

Hans loves the attention and the patients find hope in his upbeat nature.
