FEMA Aid Keeps Flowing To Miami-Dade
Prosecutors Examining Fraud Allegations

MIAMI -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency has paid $8 million into Miami-Dade County for hurricane aid since initial reports of lopsided relief to an area without hurricane winds.Boca Raton Congressman Bob Wexler said that he's more upset about the continuing flow of aid than the initial report that counties with direct hits lag behind Miami-Dade in federal relief funds.Fort Lauderdale Congressman E. Clay Shaw is calling it massive misconduct that doesn't make sense.
As it stands, more than $28 million has been paid on Miami-Dade claims. Martin County, where Hurricane Frances came ashore, has collected $12 million.Federal prosecutors are looking into fraud allegations.
