South Fla. DJs Play Prank On Fidel Castro
Castro Caught Off Guard
UPDATED: 8:52 a.m. EDT June 19, 2003
MIAMI -- The DJs at "El Zol" 95.7 FM gave Fidel Castro a wake-up call to remember on Tuesday after getting through to him on the phone while they were on the air.
Here is a translation of part of that conversation.
EL ZOL: Fidel, it's Enrique Santos and Joe Ferrero... you fell for it just like Hugo Chavez.
FIDEL CASTRO: I fell for what? (expletive)
EL ZOL: Miami is listening. What do you have to say? What do you have to say?
FIDEL CASTRO: I haven't said (expletive). Go to (expletive).
EL ZOL: All of Miami is listening to you!

These are the same DJs who played a telephone prank on Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez a few months ago.
That time, they pretended they were Fidel Castro calling Chavez and got right through to him on the phone.
