The South Beach Diet

The South Beach Diet book is in its second edition, and savvy South Florida diners will find a few recognizable recipes. The recipes in the book come from some of South Beach's most famous eateries, and health and family reporter Diana Gonzalez is bringing some of them to you this week on NBC 6.

This week's recipes:

Monday: Grilled Yellowfin Tuna With White Bean And Oregano Salad
Tuesday: Chopped-Dipped Strawberries

One Dieter's Story:

For lunch, Ellen Petersen is preparing a sandwich without the bread. But she is including turkey and real mayonnaise stuffed in a lettuce leaf.

Petersen says she is a South Beach Diet success story.

Food - Diets"I lost 20 pounds the first two and a half months, maybe a total of 24 pounds in less than three months," Petersen said, adding that she has kept the weight off for three-and-a-half years.

Petersen is featured in the new "South Beach Diet" book, which is now No. 3 on the New York Times bestellers' list.
