Halloween Photos For A Good Cause

Dog Days of Summer 2005 #18 - Image From Sandy PayneWhat: Poochini Pet Photo-O-Thon Fur-Raiser
Where: Salon Poochini, 1019 Kane Concourse, Bay Harbor Islands, 33154
When: Sunday, October 16 - Noon to 3 p.m.

Apawture Pet Photography teams up with Salon Poochini for a charity Pet Photo-O-Thon to benefit the Humane Society of The United States DART (Disaster Animal Response Teams) stationed in the Gulf Coast.

Bring your dog or cat and a $20 spot 'round to fabulously shabby chic Salon Poochini for a personalized pet portrait by Pet Photographer Wendy Doscher-Smith, founder and president of Apawture Pet Photography.

Pets may come "as is" or, as the witching hour is near, sporting their favorite Halloween costume!

Capture your furry baby in all of his or her adorable glory and help Fido and Fluffy's less fortunate kin at the same time. Prints will be mailed after the event. Reservations are not required but greatly appreciated.

While aid money is streaming in from generous organizations and well-meaning individuals from the far reaches of the globe, the humans are getting it all! The government has pledged billions in aid for people displaced by Katrina, but the pets are not as lucky.

Fido and Fluffy rely on organizations such as The Humane Society of the United States, which, in turn, rely on donations to set up temporary shelters, provide basics such as food, crates and medical assistance and transport the lucky critters to new permanent, loving homes.

The critters need your help!
