Philadelphia, PA -- (Sports Network) - San Diego defensive end Eric Bakhtiari, Montana State linebacker Bobby Daly and Nicholls State safety Ladarius Webb were all named to the Buck Buchanan Award watch list, announced Tuesday by the Sports Network.

Those three join 13 other candidates on the revised list. The original list was announced in August. The Buchanan watch list will undergo one more revision in early November and the final ballot will be announced at the end of the season.

The winner of the 13th Buck Buchanan Award will be announced at the annual Sports Network awards banquet on Dec. 13 in Chattanooga, Tenn. at the Marriott Hotel. The Walter Payton Award, the Eddie Robinson Award and the Sports Network Cup will also be awarded.

Bakhtiari was named as the Sports Network's national defensive player of the week on Monday. He played a major role in San Diego's 59-19 victory over Drake Saturday at home in a showdown between the top two teams in the Mid-Major ranks.

Playing for first place in the Pioneer Football League, Bakhtiari turned in 10 tackles, including four sacks as the Toreros held No. 2 ranked Drake scoreless for three quarters. His four sacks were the most by one player in an FCS game this season.

Bakhtiari tied a single-game FCS record with three forced fumbles and set up a second-quarter San Diego touchdown by recovering one at the Drake 22-yard line. The 6-4, 260-pound senior defensive end had two quarterback hurries, one that resulted in a 99-yard interception return by teammate Ben Hannula. He finished with eight solo tackles and six of those for losses.

For the season, Bakhtiari has 41 tackles, 15 for losses, 11.5 sacks, three quarterback hurries, three forced fumbles and two passes defended. He is ranked No. 1 nationally in sacks, second in tackles for loss and tied for third in forced fumbles to help.

Daly has helped Montana State rise as high as 11th in the Sports Network Top-25 poll this season as the Bobcats have rolled out to a 4-2 start. MSU is currently ranked No. 20.

Daly is tied for fourth nationally in total tackles with 72, is also fourth in solo tackles with 38 and leads the Big Sky Conference in tackles.

The 6-1, 215-pound junior linebacker has eight tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks this season for a Bobcat club that is allowing just 18 points per game against FCS competition.

Webb has won two national player of the week honors this season in helping Nicholls State rise to No. 13 in the Sports Network Top-25 poll. The 5-11, 180-pound junior safety shared defensive honors last week with teammate Kareem Moore when the pair combined for four interception returns for touchdowns in the first half of a 58-0 victory over Northwestern State.

Webb won the award in the opening week of the season when he led the Colonels to a 16-14 victory over FBS Rice. He intercepted three passes to kill off Owl drives, returned four kicks for 124 yards, including a 61-yard return that gave the Colonels the field possession to score a game-tying touchdown. Webb was part of a defensive effort that limited Rice to 218 yards of total offense.

For the season, Webb has five interceptions for 148 yards and three touchdowns, 11 punt returns for 144 yards, 12 kickoff returns for 366 yards, 19 tackles and four passes defended.

Webb also has played quarterback this season in Nicholls State's triple-option attack. He ran eight times for 120 yards and one touchdown in a 30-28 victory over Azusa Pacific.

Dropping off the Buchanan watch list are Albany linebacker Colin Disch, Hampton defensive end Kendall Langford and Youngstown State linebacker James Terry.

The 13 players remaining on the Buchanan watch list are named below, with updates on their 2007 seasons:

Kroy Biermann, Montana State, senior, defensive end - Biermann has helped the Grizzlies to a 6-0 record and a No. 3 national ranking with 38 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks and three forced fumbles this season.

Mike Gallihugh, Colgate, senior, linebacker - Gallihugh is seventh nationally in tackles with an average of 11.8 per game (71 total) and has 4.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, two passes defended and two interceptions for 30 yards of returns.

Jarmaul George, Southern, senior, safety - George has sparkled in the Southern secondary as the Jaguars have marched to a 5-2 start. He has intercepted four passes for 65 yards in returns and has 40 tackles. 1.5 tackles for loss and one pass defended.

Jason Hatchell, Massachusetts, senior, linebacker - Hatchell has helped the Minutemen go 5-1 this season with a No. 4 national ranking. The hard-hitting defender has 51 tackles, two interceptions, one forced fumble, five passes defended, one tackle for loss and half a sack.

Brian Johnston, Gardner-Webb, senior, defensive end - Johnston has been a force in the Bulldog defense and often draws holding penalties against opposing offensive linemen. He has 39 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, three passes defended, one forced fumble and an amazing 12 quarterback hurries.

Tony LeZotte, James Madison, senior, safety - LeZotte is a run-stopping force in the middle of a JMU defense and has helped his team rise to No. 8 in the national rankings and go 6-1. He has 48 tackles, two interceptions for 15 yards, four pass breakups, three tackles for loss and two punt returns for 21 yards.

Corey Lynch, Appalachian State, senior, safety - Lynch made national attention on Sept. 1 when he blocked a field goal in the final seconds to preserve Appalachian State's stunning 34-32 victory over Michigan. It was one of just three blocked kicks for Lynch this season. He also has 41 tackles, four pass breakups, two tackles for loss and an interception that saved a tying touchdown in a game against No. 24-ranked Elon. Lynch has five blocked kicks in the past two seasons and 19 career interceptions.

Joe Mays, North Dakota State, senior, linebacker - Mays has anchored a North Dakota State defense as the Bison have risen to No. 3 nationally with a 6-0 record. Mays has 49 tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss, even though the Bison defense is designed to funnel ball carriers into the middle, away from his position. He also has 2.5 sacks, four passes defended, one forced fumble and one quarterback hurry.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Tennessee State, senior, cornerback - Rodgers- Cromartie isn't tested much by opponents, due to the danger teams face when they throw his way. Rodgers-Cromartie has 20 tackles, three blocked kicks, six passes defended and one tackle for loss. He has also been a force on special teams and even offense for the Tigers, with 18 kickoff returns for 419 yards, three punt returns for 16 yards, one reception for 38 yards and one rushing attempt for nine yards.

Bryan Smith, McNeese State, senior, defensive end - Smith has been a one-man wrecking crew for the McNeese State defense as the Cowboys have darted off to a 6-0 start and a No. 6 national ranking. Smith has nine sacks and 14.5 of his 34 tackles have been for loss. He also has forced three fumbles and has four quarterback hurries.

Kye Stewart, Illinois State, senior, linebacker - This active defender has been the centerpiece of a solid Redbird defense. Stewart has 78 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, two passes defended and one forced fumble.

Donald Thomas, Eastern Illinois, senior, linebacker - Thomas has been the leader of a tough Panther defense that has allowed Eastern Illinois to be ranked until this week. He has piled up 55 tackles, four tackles for loss, one pass defended and one quarterback hurry.

Bobby Williams, Bethune-Cookman, senior, safety - It has been a tough season for B-CU thus far, but that hasn't been the fault of this great safety. Williams has been a big-play artist in the back of the Wildcat defense, with 45 tackles, two tackles for loss, three pass breakups, one forced fumble and one interception. He also has excelled on special teams with seven kickoff returns for 132 yards and two punt returns for 11 yards.
