Berkeley, CA -- (Sports Network) - Royce Parran poured in a game-high 24 points to lead the Eastern Michigan Eagles to a 72-61 win over the Chicago State Cougars in the consolation game of the Golden Bear Classic from Haas Pavilion. Cam-Ron Clay added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Cougars (4-7), while Michael Henderson had 14 points and six rebounds. David Holston also got in the mix, as he notched a double-double with 13 points and 12 assists. Brandon Bowdry led the way for EMU (1-7) with a double-double of a career- high 23 points and 10 rebounds. Devon Dumes tallied 11 points off the bench in the setback. Chicago State made 44.4 percent of its shots from the field and 5-of-12 from long distance in the first half, taking a 33-30 lead into the break. In the second half, the Cougars used a 22-5 run to pull away for the 11-point victory. Chicago State forced EMU into 24 turnovers in which it scored 24 points from in the victory.
